Ouzoud Waterfalls Day Trip Let’s take an opportunity from the hustle and bustle of the Imperial city of Marrakesh, Medina, and allow us to take you on a drive through the center atlas mountains. The landscape shifts from the red city to rows and rows of olive trees, dotted by the occasional human. changing hues of red and green calm the eyes.Before reaching the waterfalls you’ll go through Demnate, alittle charming walled town with its old Mellah. a few kilometers away, at Imi n’Ifri, the native attraction is a natural bridge over a gorge, the results of a partial collapse of an underground cave system.
A surprising change of scenery, spectacular in its beauty, is Ouzoud. As if to prove the desert and sand wrong, Cascades d’Ouzoud (Ouzoud meaning the act of grinding grain) rises 110m all told its splendor. At the summit of the falls, many little mills still function. From the summit, you’ll make your manner down a shaded path that permits access to the bottom of the falls.
And what a discovery this will be. From the summit wherever you begin, you’ll be reverted by the many streams (6!) that come together at different points to roar the edge.Before descending, you can try and see the lip of the falls from the Riad Cascades d’Ouzoud. The outsized caves here used to shelter watermills, grinding wheat into flour as the river is diverted through the wheels before plunging over the edge. A path through a grove of olive trees leads to the pools carved out of the rock at the base of the falls. you may fancy a dip in the pools at the base! Some sports are available, if you’re feeling adventurous, you’ll do a spot of abseiling, kayaking, waterskiing.
You can stop along the path on your walk down to the base, have a drink to shower, or have a traditional Moroccan meal at one among the many native restaurants that dot the path, or you may need to fancy up to a nicer restaurant by the lake.
Escape the hustle and bustle of marrakech for on a daily basis and visit the spectacular waterfalls of Ouzoud, located near the village of Grand Atlas Tanaghmeilt in the province of Azilal.
Take advantage of a pick-up at your hotel or your riad and go for the waterfalls of Ouzoud in air-conditioned minibus. On the way, admire the normal Berber villages typical of the Grand Atlas and ride in the shade of ancient olive trees as you approach the waterfalls.
After about three hours drive, spend four hours near waterfalls and reconnect with nature. Go meet the monkeys and swim in the crystal clear waters. once a relaxing afternoon, return to marrakech around 18:00.
